UNDP Resident Representative Signs Partnership Agreements with Project Pilot Communities in Crimea

City of Dzhankoy, September 13, 2011: A visiting session of the Republican Coordinating Council in Dzhankoy was attended by Olivier Adam, UNDP Resident Representative in Ukraine and Konstantin Bakharev, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council of Crimea. In the course of the event, partnership agreements between the CBA-II eight pilot areas and UNDP were signed.

Partnership agreement is one of the first steps in implementation of CBA-II in ARC. On July 22, 2011, a partnership agreement for cooperation within the project framework for the next 4 years was signed by the Supreme Council, the Council of Ministers and UNDP.

CBA-II was launched in Crimea on June 25, 2011 at the republican seminar, where a competition for participation of rayons was announced. Applications were submitted by 13 rayons out of 14. According to the joint decision by the Project and the ARC authorities, 8 rayons will take part in the "Community-Based Local Development – II": Dzhankoysky, Kirovsky, Krasnoperekopsky, Saksky, Bilogorsky, Nyzhniohirsky, Pervomaisky and Simferopilsky areas.
