On September 6 to 16, 2011, introductory seminars of the EU / UNDP "Community-Based Local Development-II" project were held in all pilot rayons of Cherkasy Oblast; in the course of these seminars, project coordinators Natalia Belyukina and Hanna Babkova told representatives of local authorities / self-government  all details of achievements during  the first phase of the project and the opportunities that the project offers to rural communities in its second phase.

The seminars evoked great interest among authorities. In each of the pilot rayons, the seminars gathered over 50 participants who had an opportunity to ask questions and receive answers, both from the project coordinators and leadership of rayon.

Each seminar ended by announcement of a competition for participation in the project and the formal transfer of tripartite agreements, signed by senior officials, to the UN Development Programme office in Ukraine.
