Starting on the 23rd of June, a series of regional seminars, will introduce the CBA project to all the regions in Ukraine. The seminars will be held by representatives of the Project, Leaders of Regional State Administration and Regional Councils. Heads of Rayon Administration, members of Rayon Councils, as well as media representatives are invited to attend the seminars.
During the seminar the CBA II Project will be presented, an implementation strategy and action plan for its implementation at a regional level will be proposed, and the beginning of the competitive selection of rayons for participation in the Project will be announced. Note: In the second phase of the Project, the distribution of quantity of pilot rayons will not be uniform, but will be based on the results of the first phase of the Project in the region. Nearly 60% of the successful pilot rayons in the first phase of the project will have the opportunity to continue cooperation. The Project “Community Based Development on Local Development” aims to promote sustainable socio-economic development at a local level by supporting and co-funding community initiatives in all the regions of Ukraine. The Project will support priority community initiatives in the following categories:
-Healthcare (Support a network of health posts)
-Energy Conservation (Energy saving technologies, renewable energy sources, etc.)
-Environment (waste management, water supply etc.)
-Municipal water supply
-Development of small businesses (Development of agricultural/service cooperatives)
The maximum amount of the grant of the Project for restoration of communal infrastructure amounts to $10000. The projects will be implemented through co-financing. Thus for communal infrastructure, the Project will contribute 50%, the local budget-45%, community-5%. The maximum amount of the grant for energy saving projects will be increased to $20000 and will cover 70% of the total costs of the project; the local budget will cover 25%, community contribution-5%. In general, nearly 30% of the total Project budget will be focused towards energy saving technologies, innovative and alternative sources of energy.
